Now let me just say, in the first place, that I hate scrambles. I am an awful, awful player in scrambles and I have no idea why. I have a fairly extensive vocabulary but for some reason I can never wrap my head around the possibility that someone would take a word, shove its entire letters in a bag, mix them up, and throw them on a table for me the fix. Usually I stay away from these kinds of games for the sole purpose that I stink at them.
I’ve known all of this for a long time so I’m not entirely sure what possessed me to enter a game called “Scrambler.” I’m a serious glutton for punishment, aren’t I?
But surprisingly enough Scrambler was actually a lot of fun! The set up for the game is simple. There are so many colored balls placed on the table in front of you and the other players. Each ball has a letter on it and you have to rac
e the others in order to find the words they can spell. Once a word is found you won’t get any points for it afterward so it can really get your blood pumping and your hands shaking once you do find one of them. The game would have been perfectly acceptable if you and your fellow players had taken turns or whatnot in order to input words, but the fact that you have to be quick makes it ten times more fun.
Before I knew what was happening I was having a great time playing a word scramble game! As with most of the Spogg games it was only half the fact that the game itself was fun. The other part of the entertainment was the people you get to interact with while you are playing these games. The game itself wasn’t exactly easy; it was challenging enough to keep me interested but not so much where I was frustrated into thinking I was wasting my time even trying to get good.
If Spogg.com were just a chat room I would spend hours in it, just talking to the laid back, interesting people who hit the site. Luckily for me, though, it’s much more than that. It’s also a place for you to challenge yourself and spend your time without feeling like you’ve wasted it or should be doing something else.
