Hello,

im wondering how i could calculate the upkeep costs of my armies. i think i read something about paying 1 gold per 10 units. but checking this in a game revealed that this couldnt be the whole calculation.
Does anybody know how i can calculate them properly?

Yes, I believe it's 1 gold per 10 units!

But also, you have to do it individually per province, I think? Such as 1 unit on 1 province, will still cost you 1 gold.

I was wrong: it's 5 gold for 100 troops. Also, upkeep is a minimum of 1 gold no matter the troop size. Upkeep is calculated separately for different provinces also.

Anyhow, I'll add it to the manual :kg:

To be more detailed, it's like this:

1 - 39 units* = 1 gold
40 - 59 = 2
60 - 79 = 3
80 - 99 = 4
100 - 119 = 5
etc.

* units in one province, the total cost is a sum of all costs per province :)

I think you mean 1-19 etc. Steps of twenty!

no, it's actually 1-39 :)

I thought it was on purpose gameplay-wise, and I personally like it this way, because it gives you a few more strategies to play with.

Example: How to store 70 units for as cheap as possible?
In one single province it would take 3 gold, however, if you split it between two provinces (35+35), it's just 2 gold :P just a little tweak that kind of supports the "easy to learn, hard to master" phenomenon :)
