One thing I miss from v3 of AOC is option to sabotage enemy by stealing some of his gold. Spying on others messages was also unique because you could learned his plans with others and could learned who was supporting enemies.

PLEASE bring these back next AOC v4 upgtade.

it has its perks but I think the diplomacy system would have to be more dynamic. more advanced then what I surmised in my topic. I think its better for multiplayer when the game is longer and strategy takes more time then being able to conquer big factions in the space of 5 turns

I actually miss this feature as well. It was never very much used, but it had it's uses, such as during stalemates.

When going turn after turn without any progress between two equally sized and skilled opponents, it often comes down to simply who has the most gold.

Now that I'm thinking more on it, the way I actually used sabotage the most was when helping an ally. If I found it dishonorable to gang-up or otherwise couldn't get involved in the war, I'd sabotage instead.

And am I remembering right that the more gold your opponent had the more you could gain when sabotaging? Of course, I wouldn't stress about adding this feature. Though I enjoyed it, I don't think many people used it and am not sure many would now.
