Gonna download and try it. Although oversized unit icons are a big turn off for me, good gameplay will definitely keep me playing.

The game isnt exactly free, main page says its only free for 1 day.

Homepage is wrong, game is totally free now. Even if it says that your subscription has expired do not get bothered, you can just log in as normal and play.

Played it a bit before going to sleep last night. Didnt understand exactly how to expand territory and what to do with mines after they have been captured.

Units lack description of their functions. I will read the manual later, but description for units needs to be ingame.

Thanks for the feedback. Do you mean information on how to use the units or how their statistics work in battle or some other info?

As much info as possible i would say. For example: I understood that Prospector somehow expands/gains territory, but idont know what spy does, my guess would be that he gains better visiblity in fog of war.
Info on how to use a unit should probably also be added, somehwere in game, either in tips and hints section with pop up windows, that could be turned on or off, or somewhere permanent.

btw i notice that this game is based on our first compilation of features for a new game that Chris proposed long time ago.

WEL is not based from any of the games of Noble Master Games, in fact Chris is not involved in the game design department for WEL only for the networking.

- The Spy can steal technologies from foreign factions.
- Prospectors find new mines in prospect areas
- Negotiators make peace deals or import trade deals
- Explorer just gives you vision on map

ah dont worry about the features, its just some are similar to what we discussed.

Unit description, its not even in the manual, definitely need to add it into game. Besides what you just posted, i think you need explain how exactly their functions work.

Can you be more precise, do you mean the special units or the military units in particular?

too brief or what needs to be changed?

Info inside game about the units, do you mean that in the purchase screen should be a brief description on each unit that you select or do you mean that some popup tutorial message should hint you what to do with a certain unit?

Alternatiely one could use tooltips but those could be harder to find.

Combat units i would think are easy to understand, but special units such as Explorer, spy, prospector, negotiator need a full description of what they do and how to use them.

Yes, but as a player where and how do you want that information available?

As a tooltip? I also think it would be a good idea to have a tutorial, which explains most fuctions.

Ok, definately I will try to improve this section of the game. World Empires Live is a lot about handling trade and special units but it has not been easy enough to learn how it works.
