probably this sounds ****, but I wonder whether there is a special rule concerning the kings movement. Atleast in campaign mode the king is behaving strange. If it is being moved even as the last movement of a player he is not present in any prov from the very beginning. Only when his move is processed in the order of movements then he reappears and is moved as planned. This is true even if the starting prov had been captured in the meantime.

So my question is:

a) Where is the king in the meantime?
b) how are the kings boni in defence and taxes calculated if the king is nowhere...

thanks

The king is travelling...

Anyhow, in V3 of the game, the king can only be moved with his troops. He is always part of an army movement/attack, so things are different there...

Neither. The servant. Someone has to make sure the kings royal robes don't get soiled while traveling.

That will take a little getting use to. I can already see the pros and cons to it.

If I have 10K troops with the king and in the same turn I issue my orders, I move 2K North, 2k South, 2k East and then 2k West and I leave 2k behind. Where is my king?

it's not that complicated. It actually simplifies things! Also, there is now a 30% attack bonus if you attack with your king. Although, there is always a risk involving your king into the attack also...

If he's doing it the same way he does on the iPhone/Android version of AO, then you specifically select that you want to move your king with the troops. So, it's not a random king movement if the troops move.

Here's a screenshot from the Android version to show what I'm talking about:
