I love polar maps for the refreshing view on the globe they provide.

Intended scenarios so far:
-Modern, full. Polar Ice has melted. Distant nations are suddenly close.
-Modern, Major nations, unclaimed (Post Nuclear resettlement?)
-10.000 BC. Warm Period. Clans race to claim northern hemisphere.
-Santa Wars. Modern, with major central Polar Power added.
-WW2 - Axis at their greates extent.

I'm at a stage right now, where its getting laborious and difficult.
- Region shapes need to be prettyfied
- Populations need careful, individual adjustement for scenarios to make sense.

I'd hate to go further without knowing, that ppl will like the map and region number/layout is good as is. Would hate to redo all the fine tuning.

Managed to get all nations on the map. Interior regions largely follow geographical features. regions are more likely to link than not. mountain areas (like Urals) are large comanding regions of their own right - not barriers.
I feel most user maps suffer from too few sea zones. Think I did a good job there, especially how they slow u down a bit around the pole. Invasion power of sea travel is powerful enough - bad idea to allow for one sea zone to allow invasion of several dozen regions.

Keep in mind as you test, pop sizes need to be adjusted (many low pop polar regions, Big and fortified provinces to allow small but powerful nations good economy)

Any Feedback appreciated. WIll try and upload with follow-up post.

You need to upload it! Also, your map has the bundle icon missing. Replace that "red" square with a custom icon.

Thanks :kg:

the zip file has the aocb file inside. what else do I need to upload?

map icon: I can include the preview map and re-up.
like so?

I had hoped i can upload it to forum rather than to game
while in alpha.

started to prettify borders. tedious.
might just redo them all, maybe adding a dozen or so.
still reluctant to go ahead without feedback.
shouldn't you be able to load aocb in editor before I upload ingame?

There is an [Upload] button in the editor! Just edit the map & upload :kg:

I suggest, make sure the map looks what you want it to look. Once it's LIVE, you cannot REMOVE/DELETE provinces, links etc. anymore!

seems I'm speaking chinese.
sorry, but I wanted feedback b4 I upload
something ingame that I feel needs feedback before i finish it.

love the smiley selection on this board btw.

I would go through to the trouble of
a rough province balance and upload it marked as alpha.
Can u at least take it down if someday I replace it with
a better version?

still don't understand why u cant load the provided file
in your editor. would really help me.

When you upload it in the game, we have to inspect and approve it before it goes live. Just upload there, and we'll have a look and let you know what we think here!

So I did some cleaning, balancing and testing.
Uploaded ingame. Hope you like it :)

I'm not a big PvP gamer. Right now, guessing
only the caveman scenario makes much sense for multiplayer.

The others would need delicate balancing.

But they allow for quite a range of challenge,
depending on the nation you pick.

AI runs on all maps were all quite unpredictable
concerning winners.

uploaded 1.1.0

removed more gaps
added all borders
found last missing links (I hope)
removed >< multi-region link borders
-- unable to do so in 4 cases:
Nome, 2x Poland, and near Ochotsk.
due to "live" editing restrictions.
But I really dont mind them.

This is my Starter map. It has a few imperfections,
but they're largely cosmetic.

Should be a really nice map, esp. with scenarios vs AI.

Hope it releases soon.

Next project I know how to make things prettier.

Hi, there is just one thing I would like to be changed and then we can approve your map.

In some places such as Wrangel Island, Hudson Bay, Iceland, and Ireland (just to name a few) you have water provinces that overlap onto land provinces. Please redraw the water provinces so that they don't go onto the land provinces. I will delete your map from the LIVE server, so that you can make these changes. Take this opportunity to make any other changes you were restricted from before.

Never mind. I had always considered that work an alpha.
I'm confident from feedback that It's worthwhile
and now I know it can be completed.

Fixing the alpha to to quality it deserves is more work than redrawing from scratch, with more detail, provinces, accuracy and experience :partyyy:

...Already done with redrawing the entire West.
