I've made a map of Westeros from "the Song of Ice and Fire" series by George R.R. Martin. the map is already done and now I'm working on scenarios. any good ideas are welcome. how impatiently will you wait for the map ?? :kg:

Winter is coming! :D

Do the scenarios based on what's going on in each book. :) But try to keep things fair (i.e. the Kings Landing is surrounded with little army towards the end of book 2 (or season 2 if you've only seen the TV show), but that'll never work in this game).

The map doesn't or won't violates any copyright laws, does it or will it?

Anyone can use the map for their own fan projects, but nothing that is for-profit.
so is there violation possibility ??

what is already done:
0. Duell - North from Winterfell vs Tyrells from Highgarden
1. before the Conquest - Riverlands and Iron Islands ruled from Harrenhall, Targaryens on Dragonstone
2. after the Conquest - Seven Kingdoms with Crownlands ruled by Targaryens
3. after the Rebellion - Crownlands and Dragonstone ruled by Baratheons (Stormlands too of course)
4. War of Five Kings - Riverlands as part of Kingdom of the North, Crownlands ruled by Lannisters, the Reach and Stormlands in alliance
also Wildlings and Night Watch put in the 1-4 scenarios

Fire and Blood !! :kg:

I don't know. I'm not a lawyer and I have no desire to be one. :mg:
Obviously, you're not making the map for profit. However, there is the possibility that it could be viewed that noblemaster is making a profit. Therefore, I'll leave it to him to decide.

Since I won't be the one getting in trouble for it, I say "Full Steam Ahead!".

I've been looking out for a Westeros map ever since AO III kicked off. I miss the cool map we had in AO II.

I've finished the map and scenarios long time ago
but after testing it on my computer I decided I should remake it once again from the beginning..
is there someone who could help me by creating the borderline net layer in photoshop - as it is described somewhere here on the forum ?? I would deliver the map and the borderline net by email, but I don't have photoshop...
after creating the layer you would send me back the image file and I will do the rest
any volunteers ?? :hilfe:

and one more thing :
dear Noblemaster - could you tell us can I use this particular map image ?? conditions three posts earlier

If you have general knowledge on how to use Photoshop or can pick up and use computer software relative easily. Then download GIMP. GIMP is the GNU Image Manipulation Program. It is a freely distributed piece of software for such tasks as photo retouching, image composition and image authoring. It works on many operating systems, in many languages.

I made a blog post about it some time ago:
http://blog.noblemaster.com/2010/05/21/ ... e-borders/

You can export the border lines from the map editor and then add it as a new layer into your map image. Then just apply the shadow/3D effects as described in the blog article. Gimp should work too.
