Ive created a scenario using Boss's map but cant figure out how to save it under my name, is it do-able? ( I used Great Europe and it only saves under the same name, despite me removing all the other scenarios in the map file)

Basically its a european scenario based in 1500ad with 46 player states and is designed to be reasonably realistic

However I really cant figure out how to save it under my name & with Boss's map

(I never said I was clever)

To be honest the instructions dont seem that clear, perhaps an '**** guide to creating scenarios' would be usefull?

Interestingly enough that's not a map made by BOSS95 that's an official map made by me for Noblemaster Games. I don't agree with taking another user's map and creating your own content on it and uploading in your own name - like BOSS95 has done - without asking the original uploader for permission. At the very least, all the original scenarios should be deleted. Still, it takes up unnecessary server space with duplicates...

But until I'm able to delete maps, you may as well upload it :p. Open the map in the editor and on the first tab (General) click Map Edit. Change the author name to exactly what your username is in game. Then click upload and click New Map.

In the future, when/if I can delete maps, I can include any of these duplicate map's scenarios into the original map. So you don't have to worry that I would delete your scenario someday.

ah, didnt realise it would be that simple, thanks.

Travis is there any chance I can have a copy of your map so that I can tweak it for a couple of Mods that I have in mind please?

I could do one myself BUT yours is about 97.5% of what Im aiming for, all I need to do is move some borders a little for several historic scenarios (it would be fantastic to get it in psd format with the layers all present lol)

Id be very grateful

I believe I agree with Travis on this. Not a big fan of seeing the same map duplicated. However, I have no problem with new scenarios being added to an existing map if the author agrees to it.

At the same time, I have no problem with someone just using the map image if they intend to make border changes, add more provinces, texture or changes to the graphics and then create new scenarios based upon the new map design. Even so, I would still say a person would need to be granted permission to use and alter the map prior to any changes being made.

Yeah, I guess after the fact I should have programmed the upload feature so it would allow to upload scenarios as well. Just blame me... :headbash:

I guess it wouldn't be for me to say. You'd have to ask noblemaster!
