My cousin is now currently working on it. I will send him email to get a status report.

Thanks!

Also, I am still missing the French translation. Any progress there?

@fodder: I found another volunteer for the Italian translation (he sent me an email). Not sure what to answer? If you like, I could hook you guys up and you can finish together?

Marcello was working 15 hour days for the past few weeks and didn't have any free time. He's recently got some work in on it and is in the process of sending me some questions to make sure he got the translation right. Let me see what his questions are how much he's finished. If it's a matter to just proof reading then I should be able to send it to you soon. I'll check to see how much free time he'll have too. If he's still busy then your other person can help to finish it up. Otherwise, if it's done or almost done, then there isn't much point in bringing in an other person. Will try to update you within the next 24 hours.

I heard from Marcello and answered his questions the best I could. He was concerned about the meaning of some of the words such as "ticket" which could mean a ticket (passage) as in for a concert or ticket as in what a police officer may issue. Here's the list of words he had concerns about:
Ticket, Serial, Asset, Ranking, Rating, Award / Reward, Merit

He didn't say how much he had left to do so I just now ask him how much has he done and how long does he think it will take him. Hopefully, I will hear back soon.

He did ask if he or his son could beta-test the Italian version to make sure he used the correct words based upon the context they were used in. So this make me think he must be close to being done.

Speaking of which, is the translation for AoC III (single player) or AoC III Online?

I wasn't expecting you to compensate me or Marcello for doing the translation. However, since he's shown an interest in testing out the translation. I would be happy to give him 6 month from my ONLINE membership to him, if this is possible? If you think it's a good idea to have him or his son beta-test the Italian translation in game, let me know how you would like to proceed in doing it and I will forward it onto him. Thanks.

The translation will be used both for Age of Conquest III as well as ONLINE!

"ticket": more in the sense of a trouble ticket, support ticket. Don't worry too much about it. I might not use it.

In regards to compensation: I can give you both a 2 year subscription. I am aware translation is a lot of hard work!

Does that answer all your questions?

Fodder, in the IT Support world, when someone calls in with an issue that needs to be logged, the tech support guy opens a "ticket". You'll receive a ticket/refference number if you ever need to call back or what not. Since it's all computer based, I'm not quite sure why it's called a ticket, but it must be borrowed from another industry just like every other IT term/word is (boot/reboot, computer, hardware, etc).

@noblemaster - I received a long letter from Marcello. Here's the brief version: His plan was to be finished this weekend, where I would do a proof read of it before giving it to you. As it turns out he sent me what he could so I'll give that a look over while I wait for the rest of it. Something unexpected came up at work and he had to go to Greece. His plan now is to finish up on his flight back, Wednesday. Which means I should get it sometime on Thursday. Give me Friday and/or Saturday to give it a once over. You should have it by Sunday at the latest.

I mentioned that you had another person volunteer. Marcello, said if you want you can have the volunteer play the Italian Translation when he's done, so you can have yet another person's perspective. How does that sound?

Sorry for the delay. I hope this doesn't cause you any problems.

He also offered a suggestion for the game, which I guess I could post under "Feature Requests", but I'll post here as well.

Comment form Marcello:
"Thank Chris for this donation. I'll try to let Paolo take advantage of it without him getting totally addicted. (If Chris is looking for requirements, suggest him a Parental Control function, to allow parents to moderate the playing time of their sons.)"

HIs son's name is "Paolo" :-)
