I've jsut created another scenario for Europe map. It's still the year of 1300, but now i gave the provinces to the various factions in the game. Those who are missing, i kept as "independent".

This map will be much more defensive. Ive made lots of towns, so it will be hard to conquer the provinces.

And just because some factions are bigger then others, doesnt mean they are favourites for victory. I will wait for the beta tests to see if the changes i made are enough to balance the map.

For instance, although the Kipchak horde is the bigger faction, the economy is horrible. Africa might be poor, but they have excellent moral, and the independent provinces are defended by few units.

In europe there are towns everywhere. Independent or not, most provinces are strong. So the Africans will expand much faster then the Europeans.

The English wont have a easy job entering in europe, because there are fortified towns on the coast, such as Holland(independant), Friesland and France.

The Holy Roman Empire, although its the biggest on Central Europe, is surrounded by smaller countys, that are fortified.Such as Switzerland, Bohemia and Austria.

I had to make historical mistakes...or else, factions like Ireland would be a total joke.

In this map, you should really care about diplomacy.

Well, you'll see it later :).

And next month i might think about giving the provinces, real names.

Have you sent it to Chris? When will it be available for beta games?

I am going to upload the next release in a couple of hours from now, so if you send me the map, I would actually be able to add it!!!

Didn't get it yet!

king, the uploading map system really has to be more flexible. Is it possible that you could just upload it to wherever the other maps are being put on and then have the game update this way? Just seems too much trouble to be bringing out new version everytime a map or scenario is made.

I thought about that. For now, you have to manually send it to me by email. Although, I could add a "send" button which would send the map to me (email) which would greatly simplify things of course.

Having a system that automatically adds a map has certain problems:
-the map is broken and would seriously harm the system
-you upload another Europe map which might break all the games which use the "old" Europe map
-people (I know you wouldn't do that, but somebody else) could upload a map which contains an image of some nude women ...
-there would need to be a verification system for the map.

If you would like to have a send button, I guess, I could add that to the todo list. I promise to add new maps within 1-3 day! I don't expect that many new maps... although I might be wrong?

I agree with the send button, but never with an option of automatically adding maps to the game :\. We would have map spam, and then you would have to be constantly deleting maps...

At first i thought it was a good idea...but the truth is that then we would be full of incomplete maps, etc, etc.

Hmm, nice changes to gameplay - AI seems more challenging with the extra towns. That said, once you get past the initial hit-up, a couple of players start steam rolling i.e. me, Subi and someone else I can't recall at the moment.

I wouldn't want this game to be rated, it is unbalanced, but a damn good play for fun. If the AI restrictions could be removed (number of attacks, max troops recruited etc.) then I see a real hope for a challenging game.

However, it might be a little hard to coordinate several rule sets for each game, right?

too many different game types is confusing - to have games with strong AI and games with weak AI would just completly freak out everybody!

That's why this game wouldn't be a ranked one but a single player option? Of course the AI would have to be able to accept treaties etc. Is that a possibility?

i don't see why you'd want to take a multiplayer online killing spree, and turn it into a one player wank as you play, which you play to death because you enjoy wanking :ops:

you won't get as good as you need to be if you don't stand against strong players, only when you fall can you learn to stand
