I like the 17-player map the best.

In the 33-player you need to clear out the unused starting spots so they don't begin with 5000 troops. It unbalances it for experienced players who know where they are and take them with kings.

The 55-player one is also a really good map. But if there aren't enough players it turns into a turkey shoot gobbling up AI factions. And if it is crowded it can get pretty hairy. Fun, but if you worry about rankings you'll probably steer clear.

If I could vote for them separately I'd go 5/3.5/4.5 for the 17/33/55 versions respectively. So overall I guess it's a 4.

I also prefer the 17 players scenario. Over the other.

17- player scenario - 5/5

33 - player scenario - 4/5

55- player scenario - 4/5

:)

the euro map is purely belter, gets a bit crowded on the 55, but it's all fun and games in war

Edit: it's only fun at war

To Alex, there are no fun and games of war

I really like the europe map, it's quite well balanced for the most part (on further examination). Gave it a 4/5. Like the others I prefer 17 player for the same reasons they have stated, no need to repeat. :p

Prefer 17 - no left over troops from other factions that aren't in, unlike 33 and 55.

I like being able to expand quickly, thus the 17 is my kind of map. The 33 and 55 can be unbalanced in that if noone picks in a certain area someone will get a lot of AI kills and dominate.

4/5 for the lot, probably give 5/5 for 17, though. I really like the way it plays, you can normally form some sort of border and there are some decent chokepoints. If naval movement was toned down it would be better, put more emphasis on land battles. At the moment, anyone in Africa is incredibly susceptible to amphibious attacks. In a recent game I had a navy of 1900 odd ships ferrying around my island taking army. It's just slightly crazy :???:
