that way you can play around to see how the final map would look like. the map displayed in the scenario editor shows how the final map looks like!

Aschi, i sent you the factions :). This Map seems like is going to be really tuff. There are provinces very close to each other, so the independant provinces certainly wont have only 1000 units.

And ill probably have to put a lot of towns. I think that this map will have a lot of Diplomacy, etc. You will desperatly need allies, not only to make sure they dont atack you, but to make a decent atack on somebody....Meh, we will eventually find out if that really happens, in the Beta tests of the map.

40 factions in 139 provinces. Some provinces have acess to 6 or even 7 other provinces, which mean they are very vunerable. THis ones will probably be very rich either.

There were 38 factions...so i added more 2 to make 40. This 2 factions are 50% real, 50% invention :D

For instance. There was to much space in norway. I didnt knew what to put in the center of norway, because i didnt found any Faction related with that zone. Ofcourse that were people living there, but they werent related to any important faction...

So i check out a Norwegian Dictionary...and ended up calling them "Indre Folk" :p (People from the interior, or something like that)

LOL!
________

So, now i have to wait till you add the factions, and then i can create the scenarios, right?

Here is how the map looks right now. I edited the provinces, and Aschi made the favour of correcting and improving the look of it, with that 3D effect, and strong border lines. They are bigger, and so there are less provinces on this recent map, then on the one i put on the first post:

Do you like it? :)

I added the new factions and flags to the game. Give me a couple of days to upload the next release, so you can create a scenario for your map!

I got some other stuff I need to complete programming (on-demand map download panel), which will take me little bit longer (1 week max).

Should I really be able to march from the top of the France section to the bottom of the Denmark bit?

Well, i was going to make it last 2 turns, but i dont know how to do such a thing, so i decided to put an independent town with 20 000 units dividing it.

So you know that at least in the begining, it wont be possible. Though in the "invasions full", maybe i should put an independent town again.

Not until kingsniping is dead!

I have to say that at the start it is fairly hectic, but damn good fun. Some factions are in better positions, but I think it's fairly well balanced, it depends a lot on individual circumstances to determine who comes out on top. Of course those in France have an advantage if they can unite the whole area, a secure homeland and lands untouchable against the edge of the map.

Well I think that's a bit the point of the map.
In the Beta I'm in Norway, and allied to everyone there, so no I can start invading Britain as true vikings.

Having had a think about it, could you not just remove the border between the countries so that its impossible to walk over, then youre only left with naval invasions, which is a more sensible option really...
